Dubai will host its inaugural PopCon Middle East (PopConME) from 10-13 November 2022, promising the ultimate weekend of the best in film, TV, comics, graphic novels, anime, cosplay and more.
PopConME will be held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) in Dubai Expo City in partnership with Dubai Festivals and Retail Agency (DFRE), Speedy Comics and Alanza Trading, and will include exclusive workshops, film screenings, role-playing game competitions and more.
PopConME will be held as part of the Dubai Esports Festival (DEF 2022) from 9-20 November 2022, the most exciting esports and gaming event in the Middle East and a trendsetter in the gaming industry in the region. Consolidate Dubai’s position as a year-round global hub for esports and gaming.
A dream come true
“We are delighted to bring PopConME to Dubai. I have loved comic books since I was a child and have been ingrained in the community since I was a child. The festival will give fans a chance to celebrate their favorite celebrities, meet like-minded people, and indulge in a fantasy world under one roof. Comic book geeks will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite geniuses, attend exclusive workshops and shop for one-of-a-kind merchandise at Artists Lane. Filled with interactive zones and activations, PopConME will host its own People’s Choice RPG, Dungeons & Dragons, and Pokémon/Yu-Gi-Oh card contests.
PopConME has a lineup of some international superstars and has confirmed the presence of Nightmare of Elm Street actress Katie Cassidy, also known for her role as the demon Ruby on the fantasy horror series, Supernatural and Black Canary.
