Atlanta Hawks basketball is back. The Eagles will start their preseason game in Abu Dhabi on Thursday afternoon. The game is the first of two games between Atlanta and the Milwaukee Bucks, with Game 2 on Saturday afternoon.
The 2022 Abu Dhabi game is the first of its kind and the first NBA game of any kind to be played there. Exactly how the Hawks’ rotation will look remains to be seen as Jalen Johnson, Trent Forrest, AJ Griffin and Bogdan Bogdanovic look set to start the preseason inactive state. Forrest and Johnson were both ill and did not travel.
Obviously, the NBA preseason is essentially a series of glorified exercises, but the Abu Dhabi element certainly added some excitement to fans and players alike. The Eagles will open the regular season on October 19 against the Houston Rockets.
Injuried
The preseason is always a gamble about who will actually play and how many, but expect to see most of the Eagles this afternoon. Bogdanovic, Johnson and Forrest seem likely to be out, with Griffin likely to join the ranks.
