Prime Healthcare acquires advanced cancer treatment technology from Varian

UAE-based Prime Healthcare Group has announced a strategic partnership with Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, to procure Truebeam radiation therapy systems and Bravos afterloading systems for the upcoming Marie Curie Cancer Institute (MCCI).

The Cancer Center will provide a comprehensive system of cancer care including medical oncology, surgical oncology and radiation oncology.

Announcing the strategic partnership at Arab Health 2023, Dr. Jamil Ahmed, Group Managing Director, said: “We will be partnering with Varian, a Siemens Healthineers company, and extending our longstanding collaboration with Siemens Healthineers in the region.”

Laurent Amiel, President, Radiation Oncology Solutions, Varian EMEA, Siemens Healthineers, elaborated: “As the burden of cancer continues to rise, we are proud to partner with Prime Hospitals to expand access to high-quality cancer care. “The entire pathway of cancer care from screening to survival presents us with a significant opportunity to improve the care experience for patients and clinicians. We look forward to expanding our impact and advancing our mission to create a world free from the fear of cancer.” .”

This extended partnership builds on the existing and long-standing relationship of mutual trust between Prime Healthcare Group and Siemens Healthineers, which requires equipment and services from the Radiology Department at Prime Healthcare Group’s facility in Dubai.

The Marie Curie Cancer Institute (MCCI) will form part of Prime Healthcare Group’s AED450 million multi-specialty hospital soon to be located in Dubai’s Healthcare City district. The groundbreaking ceremony for the new hospital took place earlier in December 2022. – trade arab news agency
