Prince Philip’s UFO investigation may be revealed after Queen Elizabeth’s death.
The prince developed a keen interest in aliens after a bricklayer reported a close encounter with alien life at the home of Philip’s late uncle, Lord Louis Mountbatten – but until now, his investigation into UFO sightings in the UK Still under secrecy.
Philip, who died in April 2021 at the age of 99, was credited with creating a so-called Royal X-Files about space and extraterrestrial life.
According to the Daily Star, the royal family is now facing calls for a public inquiry. The work was previously a secret during the Queen’s reign.
Nick Pope, a former Ministry of Defence official who ran the UK government’s UFO desk from 1991 to 1994, claims that Philip and Sir Peter Horsley – his former RAF assistant – spent years investigating aliens sightings.
He says: “[Philip] Followed developments closely, subscribed to UFO magazines and newsletters, and interviewed witnesses. “
He also claims that Philip’s interest in the subject was deliberately kept secret during the late monarch’s reign because it would cause a stir.
Nick told History TV: “It’s highly sensitive. Here, the Queen’s husband is investigating UFOs. If word gets out, it’s going to cause a stir.”
Lord Mountbatten – who was assassinated in August 1979 – is said to have “extensively discussed” the possibility of extraterrestrial life with Prince Philip.
Richard Dolan, an expert on UFO subject matter, is convinced the late monarch knew of the conversation between Philip and his uncle.
“You have to assume Queen Elizabeth knows,” he said.
