Prince William says Queen’s corgis are ‘very good’ cared for entertainment

[ad_1]

Prince William assured mourners that the Queen’s corgis were in “very good” care following her death.

The late monarch – who died on September 8 at the age of 96 – was left with two corgis after her beloved doggie (dachshund-corgi cross) died a few months before her death , Sandy and Mook.

The Prince of Wales told those queuing in Lambeth, south London, to see the state of the Queen’s coffin lying in Westminster Hall and the monarch’s canine companions had a “good home”.

He told them in a video shared by Sky News: “I saw them the other day. They will be well looked after, they are two very friendly corgis and they have a great home.”

He added: “They are well looked after and I’m sure they are spoiled.”

The corgis are believed to be in the care of the Duke of York and his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York.

A spokesman for Prince Andrew said over the weekend that he and Sarah would take the pets – which the Duke gave to the Queen during lockdown while her late husband the Duke of Edinburgh was in hospital and she was in Windsor gifts to lift her spirits. .

Her Majesty’s dogs are descended from her first Susan, who was given to her for her 18th birthday by her father, King George VI.

A source also revealed that the Duke of York will take the dogs to his 30-bedroom royal cottage in Windsor.

The Sun quoted an insider as saying: “It’s funny – Charles is king now, Camilla is queen, William and Kate, Prince and Princess of Wales… (Andrew) just got dogs.

“At least he has enough time on his hands after resigning from royal duties.”

In early 2021, the Queen got two new puppies, a corgi and a doggy.

The monarch named Dorgi Fergus after her mother’s brother, Fergus Bowes-Lyon, who was killed in World War I in 1915.

Muick is named after a favourite place near Balmoral Castle, where she traditionally spends her summers.

The late monarch died shortly after five-month-old Fergus died just weeks after she hosted him, and Philip also died in April 2021 at the age of 99.

Later, on her official 95th birthday, he was replaced by a new corgi from Andrew and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, which the Queen named Sandy.
