More than 15,000 pumpkins fill the streets of Silver Dollar City with the annual Harvest Festival in 2022.
Now through Saturday, October 29, fall fans can take part in the $500,000 Pumpkin Harvest expansion, which includes crafts and the return of pumpkins to the city. New for 2022 is the Foggy Hollow lighting path in the 1800s theme park.
Guests are invited into the winding foggy hollow path, which includes spectacular cascading lights on all sides and a lampshade above, enhanced by fog light.
Fan-favorite Harvest Festival features such as larger-than-life pumpkin sculptures are back, such as the 14-foot-tall firefighter landing mascot Lucky Dog, colorful bats with five-foot wingspan, a giant kitten, crafters and a two-story scarecrow. Also returning is the Garden of the Giants, which showcases real half-ton pumpkins set along the paths of Wilson’s Farm’s new expansion.
At night, thousands of hand-carved pumpkins glow throughout the park, while Silver Dollar City will continue to operate its more than 40 rides and attractions. With roller coasters and more, park guests can experience thrills in the dark while watching jack-o-lanterns and lights from across the city.
For the 2022 season, the Harvest Tasting Passport will welcome a surplus of specialty items, all with a little or more pumpkin, such as: Pumpkin Spiced Ribs, Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream and Pumpkin Cones, Pumpkin Bisque, Pumpkin Chili, Pumpkin Cheesecake Cone and Pork Sandwich with Pumpkin BBQ Sauce. With a tasting passport, guests can sample a variety of cuisines at over 20 different restaurants in the park.
Throughout the day at SDC, guests can also witness the talent of artisans while enjoying live music on the park’s outdoor stage. For the new year, the Chuckwagon Cook-Off will take place at Cowboy Camp, where chefs share cowboy knowledge and battle to prepare a traditional cowboy dish that audiences will put to the test.
“Gunsmoke” and “Yellowstone” actor Buck Taylor will once again demonstrate his abilities as a watercolor artist at the park. In the streets and courtyards, a dozen demonstration craftsmen, as well as several world-renowned pumpkin carvers, share their talents with park guests.
