United Arab Emirates based healthcare platform pure health Announce On Friday (September 2), it had reached an agreement to acquire a US-based minority investment Enthusiastic health service.
To that end, Pure Health will buy an interest from majority shareholder Equity Group Investments (EGI). According to the press release, Ardent is the fourth largest private acute care hospital operator in the United States, with 30 hospitals and more than 200 points of care in six states.
“One of EGI’s strengths is working with like-minded individuals who have a wealth of experience and passion for how we approach investment opportunities,” said EGI founder and chairman Sam Zell. “We look forward to a productive relationship with Pure Health as they continue to explore the various dynamics of the U.S. healthcare system.”
Pure Health CEO Farhan Malik said the agreement was beneficial to both parties.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Pure Health as we continue to build relationships with leading US healthcare providers to deliver an unparalleled healthcare experience to patients in the UAE, leveraging the highest standards and best clinical practice, ‘ said Malik. “Ardent has a proven track record of delivering exceptional service across the United States, and we look forward to gaining additional knowledge to support our advancement of the science of longevity and the North Star of unlocking time for humanity.”
In other healthcare news, PYMNTS wrote that the Federal Trade Commission is investigating Amazon’s $3.9 billion acquisition of One Medical.

One Medical has multiple clinics in various markets in the United States. The company disclosed the investigation in a securities filing, saying it and Amazon had received requests for more information.
The One Medical acquisition is Amazon’s first announced during the tenure of new CEO Andy Jassy as he looks to get more into healthcare. The acquisition will give the e-commerce giant access to 180 clinics in two dozen U.S. markets.
