Putin mobilized and called on China to call for a “dialogue ceasefire” | DayDayNews World News

[ad_1]

China on Wednesday called for a “negotiated ceasefire through dialogue” Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Regarding Ukraine’s speech, in which he announced a partial military mobilization.

“We call on all parties concerned to achieve a ceasefire through dialogue and consultation, and to find a solution that takes into account the legitimate security concerns of all parties as soon as possible,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a regular news conference.

Putin mobilized earlier on Wednesday and vowed to use “all available means” to protect Russian territory after Moscow-controlled Ukraine announced a referendum on annexation.

China and Russia have moved closer in recent years as part of what they call an “unrestricted” relationship that acts as a check on U.S. global dominance.

Last week, Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping held a regional summit in Uzbekistan and summoned Asian leaders to support a new “international order” that challenges Western influence.

Wang Yi said on Wednesday that China maintains that “the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries should be respected, the purposes and principles of the UN Charter should be observed, the legitimate security concerns of countries should be taken seriously, and everything conducive to the peaceful resolution of the crisis should be supported.

China calls on all parties concerned to properly resolve differences through dialogue and consultation, and is willing to work with the international community to continue to play a constructive role in easing the situation.
