Quad collaborates in cyberspace, pledges to combat cyber threats-News

The leaders of Australia, India, Japan and the United States will ensure the critical infrastructure of the member states

The leaders of Australia, India, Japan and the United States said on Friday that they are beginning a new cyberspace cooperation and pledged to work together to combat cyber threats, increase resilience and protect critical infrastructure in member states.

“In space, we will look for new opportunities for cooperation and share satellite data for peaceful purposes, such as monitoring climate change, disaster response and preparedness, sustainable use of oceans and marine resources, and addressing challenges in the shared field,” the Quartet leader People say a statement.

The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) summit was held on Friday and discussed a series of issues, including Afghanistan, infrastructure cooperation, Covid-19 vaccine and the Indo-Pacific region.

Leading experts vowed to meet regularly to promote government and industry work and promote continuous improvement in multiple areas. This includes adopting and implementing shared network standards, developing security software, cultivating labor and talent, and promoting the scalability and network security of a safe and reliable digital infrastructure.

The statement said that Quad will begin space cooperation with a new working group for the first time.

“In particular, our partnership will exchange satellite data, with a focus on monitoring and adapting to climate change, disaster preparedness, and addressing challenges in the shared domain.”

It said that the four countries will share satellite data to protect the earth and help member countries better adapt to climate change.

“Our four countries will begin to discuss the exchange of Earth observation satellite data and climate change risk analysis, as well as the sustainable use of oceans and marine resources. Sharing these data will help Quad countries better adapt to climate change and work with the Quad Climate Working Group. Coordinate and build capacity in other Indo-Pacific countries facing severe climate risks.”

The leaders of the four countries also reaffirmed their commitment to promote a free, open, rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific region.

“The convening of the Quartet Summit is an opportunity for us and the world to refocus on the Indo-Pacific region and our vision for the goals we hope to achieve. We recommit to promoting a free, open, rules-based order, rooted in international law, and not afraid of coercion. In order to strengthen the security and prosperity of the Indo-Pacific region and other regions,” the leaders of the four countries said in a joint statement.
