The holidays are here! That means it’s time to use the world’s most famous kicking line: Christmas spectacle starring the Radio City Rockettes.
For nearly a century, choreographers Russell Markett Founded in 1925 by the Rockettes, this iconic dance company has been performing and showing off to more than 69 million people from around the world. (They debuted at Radio City in 1933.) In fact, these artistic athletes have been known to perform 160 high kicks per game.
This year’s Christmas spectacle starring the Radio City Rockettes, presented by QVC, debuted at Radio City Music Hall on November 18 and will run until January 2, 2023. In fact, the company is made up of accountants, nurses and college students.

The Rockettes even have an identical twin on the kickline. “Being a Rockette with my twin sister Sarah is a gift we don’t take for granted. I am forever grateful for the opportunity and to be able to share this sisterhood with my twin sister,” Katie Daniel said about their Season 4 show with the Rockettes. “I love seeing how we grow and learn each year. We moved to New York City at 18 to pursue a lifelong dream we shared, and I’m happy to be able to say we did it…together.”
The 2022 Christmas Spectacular also debuts “Dance of the Frost Fairy,” transforming Radio City into a winter wonderland. The new figure features Rockettes as winged fairies, and fairy drones flying above the audience.
Plus, there are classics that audiences come back to year after year. “We’re upholding timeless traditions that audiences love and adore, such as the Wooden Soldiers Parade, which has been on the show since 1933,” says Daniel. “There’s no place in the world like Radio City for a holiday, no place in the world for a show like This Christmas Spectacular”
Who is the Rockettes of Radio City?
The Radio City Rockettes are made up of 84 strong, unique and talented women. Many of them have other careers outside of Christmas. There were Rockettes, they were college students, moms, teachernurses, trainers, accountants and more!
There are 18 brand new Rockettes this year, 17 of whom attend the Rockettes Conservatory. The dance company’s free training program offers in-depth study of the Rockettes’ precise style.
