Radisson eyes 150 hotel portfolio in Middle East by 2030

Radisson Hotel Group announced at this year’s Arabian Travel Market that it wants to expand its portfolio to 150 hotels in operation and under development in the Middle East by 2030.

The group, which currently operates 52 hotels and resorts in the Middle East, is on track to achieve net zero, aiming to reduce its carbon footprint by 100% by 2050.

With its nine distinct hotel brands, the group has been making waves in key feeder markets in the Middle East, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman, Kuwait and Jordan.

Saudi Arabia remains one of the group’s most dynamic markets in the region, as it plans to open seven hotels across the country in 2023. As religious tourism continues to boom, Radisson Hotel Group plans to open two new hotels in the holy city of Mecca, the Park Inn by Radisson Makkah Sek City East Tower and the Park Inn by Radisson Makkah Sek City West Tower due to open in 2023.

In 2023, the group will further expand its footprint in the vibrant capital with Radisson Blu Al Sahafa Riyadh and Radisson Blu Resort Al Khobar Azizizya in Al Khobar. In addition to the opening of the Radisson Blu Beach Resort, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, the two upcoming resorts will further complement the Group’s diverse portfolio in the region.

In line with its vision to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, the group has reduced its carbon footprint by 30% over the past decade. In addition, starting February 2023, all meetings or events held at Radisson Hotel Group properties worldwide will be 100% carbon neutral. The group also made it easier for guests to travel and meet responsibly by launching electric vehicle charging infrastructure in EMEA and India, becoming the only hospitality company featured in Sustainability Magazine’s list of the top 100 sustainable companies.

This recognition demonstrates the Group’s commitment to ESG and ethical excellence. Recently, Radisson Hotel Group also signed the “Vision for Nature Positive Tourism”, which aims to protect biodiversity and convene industry-leading strategies. Radisson Hotel Group has made strides in influencing change and is a proud partner of WTTC’s Global Hotel Sustainability Fundamentals and Net Positive Hotel Activity Pathway.

Recently, the group successfully launched the next phase of its comprehensive digital transformation with the successful introduction of a customer-first and innovative digital strategy. Radisson Hotel Group was one of the first hotel groups to offer guests an immersive, localized experience, including an online tour in 29 languages, personalized to more than 60 regions; while some hotels, including Mana, Bahrain The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence & Spa at Mai and the Radisson Blu Hotel at Dubai Waterfront in the Middle East have rolled out curated experiences to drive customer engagement and booking conversions.
