On Tuesday, authorities in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah announced road closures due to “falling rocks”, according to reports Parts of the UAE were hit by torrential rain this morning.
The Khor Fakkan-Dafta road in Ras Al Khaimah was closed in both directions, emirate police said in a briefing.
“Affected areas [by the rock fall] Currently being evaluated by a supervisory group. We implore all members of the public to obey the road closure signs and choose other safe paths,” it added.

Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) also said in a tweet that part of Khor Fakkan Road – specifically “the section extending from Dafta Bridge to Washah Square” – was closed.
Drivers have been advised to divert on Al Dhaid Road and Maliha Road, authorities said.
