Sharjah Police announced that several roads leading to the city of Khor Fakkan were temporarily closed as downpours continued in parts of the UAE on Saturday night.

Road closures include Nahwah-Shias Road, and a new street leading to the Al Haray residential area.

Roads leading to Al Suhub Rest House and Al Rabi Tower, a hilltop tourist attraction, were also closed.

Police said the decision was made to ensure public safety as the rainy weather began to fill the area’s river valleys.

In an announcement earlier today, the Home Office urged motorists to drive carefully and stay away from mountains, valleys and streams.
