The delegation from the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) concluded its visit to Russia and participated in several business events where they interacted with a range of industries from construction and manufacturing to information technology and FMCG trade entrepreneurs communicated.
Ramy Jallad, CEO of RAKEZ Group, said: “RAKEZ has always been a favored business center for Russian entrepreneurs, and they have become our top 5 investors in the past few years. Nearly 600 Russian companies have established considerable business, enjoy the seamless experience of doing business in Ras Al Khaimah, and access to the highly profitable markets in the region.”
Events where the Economic Zone team highlighted investment opportunities in Ras Al Khaimah included the EPAM Corporate Law Day, the Skolkovo Business School Alumni Association and the Atlantly Business Club Dinner.
During EPAM Company Law Day, representatives of the economic zone joined hundreds of representatives of Russian law firms to discuss business relocation, expansion and new establishments in the UAE.
Likewise, at the Skolkovo Business School Alumni Association, the RAKEZ team participated in a roundtable discussion with local business owners, discussing current service needs and potential in the UAE, such as new technologies, ways to find suitable investments, and ways to enter the local market Pathways. Visitors were also keen to explore industries such as cement, building materials, engineering services and raw material trading.
Finally, at the Atlantly Business Club Dinner themed ‘Opportunities for Production Companies Expanding from RAKEZ to the MENA Region’, the Economic Zone team catered to SME participants who wished to learn about the UAE business set-up requirements, licensing procedures and processing timeframes.
The RAKEZ team also visited major manufacturers and met company owners in the building and construction industry during the MosBuild exhibition in Moscow to address questions about access to other markets and connectivity through Ras Al Khaimah, and the cost-effectiveness of logistics operations in the emirate.
Jallad added: “Overall, the visit was a success and demonstrated the potential for fruitful business relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Russia. Our team had the opportunity to meet with representatives from around 300 SMEs and large , and we look forward to supporting them in establishing their base and expanding to the world through the emirate.”
