Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties, has announced the launch of his new project, Ramhan Island.Privately owned Eagle Hills Developments will develop the $3.5 billion project, located in Abu Dhabi. The island covers an area of 1.4 million square meters and will offer 1,800 beach villas, 1,000 residences, a hotel and a marina.
The project aims to provide residents and tourists with a rare opportunity to live on a natural island with a tranquil environment and beaches, and to observe dolphins, turtles and birds. With a focus on natural beauty and tranquility, the project stands out from a number of commercial and residential developments that Emaar Properties has previously been involved in.
“I’ve been lucky enough to work on some unique projects over the years, but this is something truly special,” Alabbar said. “Living on a natural island is a rare thing and that’s what we’re going to provide.”
The villas will come in eight different designs and sizes, ranging from 2,862 square feet to 7,539 square feet. While there’s no official release date yet, the team hopes the villas will be available for occupancy in at least three years.
