Zimbabwean cricket star Sikandar Raza continues to earn international recognition with his impressive performances after signing with the Chennai Warriors for the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League in the United Arab Emirates in November.
Raza, who attracted a bid from the Chennai Warriors in Monday night’s T10 league player draft, will be the only Zimbabwean international cricketer to play.
This year’s Abu Dhabi T10 will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Ground from 23 November to 4 December.
Raza, who has been one of the world’s leading scorers in the short game this year, will play alongside the team’s iconic Sri Lankan star Dasan Shanaka.
Other top players on the Chennai Warriors roster include Carlos Brathwaite, Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Ben Duckett to name a few.
Raza recently made history by becoming the first Zimbabwean player to win the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award.
The 36-year-old tough all-rounder will be looking to continue his good form by making an impact with the Chennai Warriors, who will appear in eight-team competition for the second time after making his debut last year.
Raza is also no stranger to the Abu Dhabi T10 league after making his debut with the Northern Warriors in 2019.
The Deccan Gladiators are the defending champions of the tournament, which also includes the Bengals, Derry Bulls, Northern Warriors, Abu Dhabi and new entrants Morrisville SAMP Army and New York Strikers.
