Reach’s 50-day plan reached a midway milestone, and the funds raised were enough to change the lives of 3 million people

The Reach movement revealed that its “50 Days of Changing 5 Million Lives” fundraising campaign aimed at eliminating two neglected tropical diseases (NTD), river blindness and lymphatic filariasis has raised enough funds to transform 300 Ten thousand lives.

As part of this event, some leading companies and organizations in the UAE have joined forces to pass a series of activities, promotions and events during the 50-day countdown to the UAE Golden Jubilee.

The list of partners and participating brands includes the founding partner Lulu Group International, which is launching a special multi-brand fundraising promotion in all its UAE stores; ADNOC, which creates opportunities to raise funds through award applications and internal employee activities; and Atty Harder Air, which will give customers the opportunity to support the event through their guest mileage donations. Marketing partners include ADCB, which will promote small donations through its ATM network, while Rivoli Group’s watch and vision care department provides support through special initiatives in its UAE store.

Other partners working on the event include Dubai Cares, one of the strategic partners of the event, which has pledged to donate AED 50,000 to Reach. The organization invites the public to visit its fundraising platform to contribute to life-changing programs, and the platform will accept donations within the next 25 days. ADSC will donate a certain amount of the registration fee for each participant to 2021 ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon and 11 independent coffee shops (including BRDG, DRVN, Dialogue, H’s Coffee, Kava and Chai, Morsel, Notes, Pentagon, Shot, Coffee Architecture). Proportionally contribute, Ten11 will continue their in-store promotions until the end of the event.

All proceeds from the 50-day event will be used to reach the Last Mile Fund (RLMF), which provides a proof of concept for the elimination of these two diseases in sub-Saharan Africa.

So far, the funding has helped more than 800 million people in seven countries, including people like Kasech Fantu, who lives in Sankola, Ethiopia with two children and suffers from advanced lymphatic filariasis (LF) , Can cause severe fluidity problems in lymphatic filariasis (LF). RLMF is a 10-year, US$100 million project initiated in 2017 by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. And got several organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and ELMA charity. The fund is managed by the END Fund, a leading charity dedicated to ending neglected tropical diseases.

RLMF provides preventive treatments for neglected tropical diseases and focuses on ways to accelerate the elimination of disease progression-from investing in disease mapping work to supporting advanced laboratory facilities and cross-border cooperation. The 50-day campaign aims to raise funds to support these activities and ultimately help protect at least 5 million people from river blindness and lymphatic filariasis.
