Predictably, Bangladesh beat the home side by 32 points in their second match in Dubai against the UAE in a hastily arranged two-match T20I series. The visitors were relieved by two victories in a weak season, but the UAE will also be encouraged by their performance in those games.

Aggressive batsman falls lightly

Compared to their cowardly start in the first game, Bangladesh are usually more powerful in this innings. However, the batsman’s intentions didn’t translate into a good start. Sabbir Rahman shot four and six before being knocked out for a lap in the fourth. Littendas, on his way back from missing the Asian Cup, hit four boundaries in his first 19 balls and looked good in his hand, but then his upward square cut into the loop pointed.

Miraz keeps his faith

UAE strikes back

Keeping Bangladesh at 43 in the last five matches will be something Rizwan captain and coach Robin Singh can cheer from. Bangladesh advance by four

Bowler Nasum Ahmed completed the easy catch as UAE began to stutter. Things got worse for the home team after Muhammad Waseem was trapped by Taskin in the sixth after Nasum hit two sixes.

Mossadeq conceded back-to-back goals to Aryan Lakra and Vritya Aravind in his first match to cut the UAE to 4-29 in the seventh. Lakra holed in to Mohammad Saifuddin in screen and Aravind missed a pass that spun onto his stump as he went back to chip.

Rizwan, Hameed Dig Deeper

Bangladesh could have shut down but left the game in limbo. That meant Hameed and Rizwan rebuilt the UAE’s innings, adding 90 points over the next 11.5 rounds. Yasir Ali helped them along the way, putting Rizwan on the 13th deep square leg boundary.

But the pair ran desperately around, scoring with many boundaries at the same time. Hamid’s four bounds included a dangerous sloped shot against Saifuddin from a stump. Rizwan hit 50 with a piercing screen drive in the penultimate end, but he had too much to do himself.
