Ski Consignment Deals This Weekend

The biggest consignment sale of the year will take place this Labor Day weekend at the annual Start Haus Ski Consignment Sale every day from 8am to 6pm.

Beginning Friday, September 2, hundreds of high-quality used skis will be lined up for sale, including backcountry skis, powder skis, all-mountain skis, race skis, and more. In addition, there will be a wide range of ski equipment suitable for the whole family.

The event will be held at Start Haus Bike & Ski at 11410 Deerfield Dr. in Truckee on Monday, September 5th.

Alpine Wine Festival at Palisades Tahoe

The 32nd annual Alpine Wine Festival will return to Palisades Tahoe in the village on Sunday, September 4th from 2-5pm, hosted by Palisades and Uncorked.

The event will bring together over 40 wineries and a range of live music for wine tasting with friends and family.

All proceeds from the event will go to Can Do MS, a nonprofit organization that provides health and wellness education programs for families with multiple sclerosis. Ticket purchase includes a wine glass, all-inclusive wine tasting, and these tastings must be 21 years old or older.

Tickets purchased in advance are $40 and tickets purchased at the gate are $50. Early bird ticket purchases will end on September 3.

Down the Rabbit Hole at Alder Creek Cafe

Join the local Tahoe Donner community for live music, food and drinks this weekend at Alder Creek Cafe.

Down the Rabbit Hole will play their wide selection of songs, from Lady Gaga to Pink Floyd and more.

The event takes place on Sunday, September 4th from 5-7pm and is open to all ages.

Valhalla’s History Series Featuring George Whittell

Historian David Woodruff will present the history of the Eastern Mountains at Valhalla Hall on Friday, September 2 at 7:30 pm.

Sit back and relax with Woodruff as he takes on the role of one of the richest men in America in the 1930s, George Whittell kept an African lion as a pet and he built one of the most beautiful Pleasure ships came to sail Lake Tahoe, entertained the former president, and inadvertently protected much of Lake Tahoe for the enjoyment of the public today.

The 60-minute show is free at the Valhalla Grand Hall at the Tallac Historic Site. 1 Valhalla Rd, South Lake Tahoe.

Jack Johnson performs two shows at Harveys

Jack Johnson will spend two nights at Harveys’ Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena with special guest Chiggy Marley for the Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series.

On Sunday and Monday, September 4-5 at 6:45pm, Johnson will perform music from his Meet the Moonlight 2022 tour, marking another artist’s return to live music in the wake of COVID.

Tickets for the show are limited and vary in price, and $2 per ticket will go towards supporting the environment for carbon offset projects, as well as All At Once nonprofit partners working to address environmental issues in the watershed.
