The Economic Empowerment Department of the United Christian Faith Ministries Church will be hosting the College and Career Fair on the Church’s campus, 9229 N. Ridgewood Drive, Saturday, noon to 3 p.m.
In addition to mock interviews and free LinkedIn or professional headshots, the show also offers resume reviews. Participants have the opportunity to meet new people, network with potential employers and improve their interview and elevator pitches.
Career fairs also provide opportunities to chat one-on-one with like-minded employers; practice and improve networking skills; learn about companies and the positions they are hiring for; network with other professionals and gather contact information; find a wide range of internships and jobs opportunities; and more.
Clothes and household items donated by local churches
The God Leading Ladies Ministry of St. Mary Baptist Church, 1252 N. Acadian Thruway East, will be offering a clothing and home goods giveaway on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm. Women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, as well as homeware will be available.
Church music program and lunch
First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd., will host a music program and lunch on Wednesday, February 8 at 10:30 am. The Lagniappe Dulcimer Society will provide entertainment at the conference center at the American Street Church. The fee is $10.make a reservation email care@firstmethodist.org.
