Lunch menu postcard from the country of the rising sun…
We are not shy about our love for the new seaside food district, Mamsha Al Saadiyat. The destination located in the northwest corner of Abu Dhabi’s “cultural district” has a gourmet gallery that can reasonably spread the world’s cuisine. Today, we will fly to Japan for a flight visit.
Niri Restaurant and Bar was originally located in Yas Mall, but it resembles cherry petals Cherry blossoms, As if really blooming in the fresh sea breeze. This is a beautiful venue that subtly replicates the modern Osaka Izakaya-the interior is dominated by a simulated cherry tree in full bloom. A long sushi bar; and smooth wooden finishes. The service staff’s wardrobe follows the same trans-hemispherical posture, wearing a kimono-style uniform. It is this level of detail, we think to ourselves, that usually indicates that you are going to experience something carefully considered.
We were attracted by the dramatic chef behind the sushi bar, so we pulled a stool to better understand the precision knives. Within a moment, a plate of kimchi was served with delicious kismet. There is a lunch special, two selected courses and a drink for 99 dirhams. A quick glance at the menu confirms that this is a very good deal, in fact so much that we were immediately proposed to double the beginners to pay an additional 20 dirhams.
As the kitchen was busy preparing the first appetizer, spinach nasu goma, Niri’s sushi chef began to carefully dissect the hamachi usuzukuri we ordered.
The uniform, buttery yellowtail fillets are arranged in a sashimi mandala and covered with yuzu tahini sauce. Over and over again, the freshly marinated hamachi makes our taste buds shuttle between the subtle and intense lanes again and again. The marbled yellowtail is very rich, but it is a good partner for lime sauce.
Although it was another appetizer that snatched the laurel of the main course. A tower of blanched spinach is folded into roasted eggplant, a simple mixture, but heavy in the round mouth in autumn.

Our choice of main course also attracted a small surcharge of 20 AED (but there are no other five options), Miso Suzuki-although it sounds like the model name of a mid-range hatchback, it is passed Certified G-class sedan tray.
The plump and fluffy grilled sea bass fillet is served with white miso sauce and white rice. The fish element of this dish gives you a good meaty taste and a burnt umami, which is dropped through the miso mirepoix pairing. Our only flavor-based note is one of personal preference-the miso mirepoix sauce is a bit overwhelming, but conveniently put aside.
Conclusion: Savour the last moments we spent in Niri, and we are convinced that this restaurant is a great addition to Saadiyat dining venues. It pays homage to high-end Japanese cuisine and goes far beyond the inaccessible roads of sushi and ramen restaurants in the capital. In fact, it is licensed for adult beverages and provides another way to enjoy the venue, which is a sea view sunset and some next-level snack options. Rating: A-
