There is no shortage of hype surrounding this long-awaited restaurant, can SushiSamba do it?
In the Dubai restaurant scene recently, no two words are mentioned more often than Sushi Samba.Since 2019, this world-renowned brand has ridiculed the arrival of Palm Jumeirah and is very happy Latest News team The door finally opened Mid-November 2021.
The skyscraper is located on the 51st floor of the Palm Tower, right on the trunk of Palm Jumeirah. From each table, you can see the panoramic view of the palm trees below and the surrounding ocean and skyscrapers, but the window seats provide a higher level of experience.
Unsurprisingly, the restaurant was full when we arrived-and we were told that the reservation was full for the rest of the month. There has been a lot of hype surrounding this opening ceremony, and for good reason, the original SushiSamba in London has won international acclaim for its culinary creations.

In Dubai, the three-page menu is inspired by Brazilian-influenced Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, including cold cuts and lettuce, robata grilled meat and fish, and sushi.
We started with two types of dumplings, one is prawns (68 dirhams) and the other is Japanese A5 wagyu beef (92 dirhams). Beef is a clear winner. Its meaty taste is incredible, melting in the mouth in a soft and crispy wrapper, but for those who don’t eat meat, shrimp is a delicious substitute.
The best way to taste the original “seviche” selected by SushiSamba is through the Samba Seviche platter (AED 299). On a large plate is a palm tower-shaped ice cube with the name of the restaurant frozen on it, while five different ceviche dishes are cooled on the edge. The tuna is a special highlight, with rich garlic and tahini sauce and delicate and delicious tuna chunks.
Raw food lovers will also like salmon tartare (Dhs85), which is served on a bed of black crispy seaweed. The flavours used in the salmon are exhilarating citrus and avocado pureed creamy flavours-simply delicious.
SushiSamba Dubai is famous for its samba rolls, offering six types of maki, our favorite is bahia (95 dirhams), which includes shrimp tempura and avocado wrapped in rice, topped with tuna and king crab strip. The combination of softness and crunch, sweetness and cream provides the perfect balance.
The venue is dark and vibrant, and the large slanted windows provide a spectacular sparkling environment. The live bongo players drum to the DJ’s drums, and the DJ played a fast-paced soundtrack to the endless buzz of excited chatter.
Abandoning traditional main dishes, the menu only offers grilled dishes from traditional Japanese charcoal grills, leaving a delicious and authentic burnt taste in every bite. 200 grams of Australian Angus tenderloin (250 dirhams) almost spread out on the fork. The meat is tender and juicy, topped with melted foie gras and chives, bringing an unusual cross-border cuisine flavor.
Black cod (Dhs180) is a safe but undeniably pleasant choice. Coat foam in the sticky sweet white miso and Shichimi with a single blow. The spatchcock chicken (Dh138) has a stronger flavour, coated with rich rocoto rocota miso, and then grilled until completely charred.
Not wanting to end the evening, we extend to desserts, albeit a light and non-carbohydrate option. Pineapple (Dhs59) is packed in real pineapple fruit, hollowed out and made into caramel preserves, topped with coconut sorbet, the sweetness is just right.
So, should you believe the hype of SushiSamba Dubai? If there is any need for this introduction meal, the experience is self-evident, we are happy to work with you to make a reservation.
