Rihanna has no “news” on when her new music will be released.
The superstar returned to the live stage at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show on Sunday (2/12/23) where she also revealed that she is pregnant with her second child with rapper A$AP Rocky, while It’s been a while since they welcomed a baby boy, whose name they haven’t released to the public.
However, fans have been eagerly awaiting the “Need Me” singer’s long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s “ANTI” for years, and it looks like they’ll have to wait a little longer.
Rihanna told “Good Morning America”: “They’re waiting.
“I’m excited to actually have new music coming out, but I don’t have any updates on that yet.”
However, the “Umbrella” hitmaker did release a new song, “Lift Me,” for Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” in October.
The 34-year-old superstar — whose first show was the second-most-watched in history, with more than 110 million people tuning into the spectacle — recently admitted she found it “impossible” to achieve a healthy work/life balance.
The chart-topping star admitted she’s still adjusting to the demands of motherhood.
She said: “It’s very different.
“Balance is almost impossible because no matter how you look at it, work will always take away time with your kids. That’s the currency right now, that’s where it’s going. How much weight it has.”
Rihanna also gushed that she was glad her son got to see her perform at the Super Bowl.
She explained: “When you become a mom, something happens that makes you feel like you can take on the world. You can do anything, and the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world.
“So, as scary as that is… there’s something exhilarating about all that challenge, and it’s important to me this year. It’s important to representation. It’s important for my son to see that.”
