About 20 young musicians gave a free concert at the Lititz Farmers Market in Lititz Springs Park on Thursday. They were students of Rob Reese, owner of Rob’s Rock School in Lititz, who said that when he was a teenager in the early 2000s, there were few opportunities for young musicians like him to play live.
“Part of my approach to the curriculum is to bring as many (performance) opportunities as possible,” Rees said.
Rees, from Mannheim, said about 70 students attend his school, which is located at 7 E. Orange St. in Lititz. Reese taught guitar at school and Cass Duignan taught piano.
Thursday’s concert at Lititz ended with a public riff on Lynyrd Skynyrd’s timeless “Free Bird,” accompanied by plenty of guitar solos.
