The Hero MotoSports Team Rally concluded their campaign with a solid top 5 finish in the 2023 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge (ADDC).

Hero MotoSports rider Ross Branch followed up his stellar performance at Dakar 2023 with solid results throughout the five days of the rally, finishing in the top 10 at each stage. On the fifth and final stage, he crossed the finish line fourth fastest and finished fifth in the overall rally standings.

The Botswanan took to the stage podium twice this week in an extremely tough battle with the world’s top drivers and factory teams. His teammate Sebastian Buhler had to withdraw after the first period due to an unfortunate technical accident.

The top 10 spots in the ADDC are hotly contested by the top drivers in the rally GP class, all of whom have an equal chance of finding a place on the final podium. After five stages and more than 17 hours of riding time, Ross Branch finished within six minutes of the ADDC ’23 winner.

The final stage of the rally sees the drivers through a 206km showdown and a further 165km of liaison, moving the entire rally from Qasr Al Sarab to Abu Dhabi. A podium ceremony in the capital Abu Dhabi concluded the Challenge, the second round of the 2023 World Rally Championship.

Next up on Hero MotoSports’ schedule is the Sonora Rally in Mexico in April 2023 – which will be the third round of the W2RC. The team will now focus on training and testing to stay in top shape for their return to the Latin American region after a long gap.

Ross Branch said: “The journey to Abu Dhabi 2023 has been fantastic. I’m very happy with the results, although I’d love to be on the podium. We’ve had a lot of good steps in the right direction this week and Bike, I’m really happy about that. We were there for sure, the battle was tough this week and we managed to stay on top at all times. All the competitors did a great job – they all pushed really hard, mixing with them It was fun. I’m looking forward to the next game in Mexico and thank you all for the great support!”
