Voice actors include Harvey Guillén, Kate Micucci, Dominic Monaghan and Nasim Pedrad
The series follows Rovio’s beloved baby birds, the Hatchlings, who must work with their new piggy friends to survive on a deserted island filled with supernatural elements
Culver City, CA – June 6, 2023 – Prime Video and Amazon Kids+ today announced orders for the Angry Birds Myst series from Eric Rogers (Futurama) and Titmouse. The animated series stars Harvey Gillen (“What We Do in the Shadows”), Kate Micucci (“Scooby-doo!”), Dominic Monaghan (“Lord of the Rings”) and Naseem Pedrad (“Saturday Night Live”). For 24 episodes in its first season, the show is full of fun, mystery, and adventure, along with irreverent humor and pop culture references that all the family will love. Angry Birds Myst will premiere on Prime Video and Amazon Kids+.
Angry Birds Mystery Island introduces three new Hatchling characters – “Mia”, “Rosie” and “Buddy” – as well as a FX piggy named “Hamylton”. These grumpy kids get an all-expensive (and totally unasked for) island vacation when they’re mistakenly catapulted onto an unknown island. Left to explore the exotic sights, smells and unexplained phenomena of their new surroundings without any adults around them, the ragtag group soon learns that together they need to unravel the mysteries of the island in order to survive and get back home .
“We’re excited to partner with Amazon to add a new chapter to the Hatchlings’ story in Angry Birds Mystery Island,” commented Hanna Valkeapää-Nokkala, Head of Brand Licensing at Rovio. “I’m sure fans of the Hatchlings will be eager to see them in their own series, and this is the first time they’ve spoken.”
“Working with such a dream team and cast has been the highlight of my career. Together, we’re curating a series filled with comedy, emotion, and binge-worthy mysteries, filled with laughable moments,” said showrunner and head writer and executive producer Eric Rogers said.
“It’s exciting to expand the world of Angry Birds with adorable new characters and a multi-layered story that speaks equally to kids and their hearts,” said Veronica Pickett, Head of Original Series for Amazon Kids+. “
“Angry Birds have captivated people of all ages and become a global phenomenon with the debut of their first game, and their cultural influence has remained steadfast,” said Melissa, head of animation at Amazon Studios. Wolfe said. “We’re excited about the opportunity to expand the world of the Hatchlings into a family series so our global customers can enjoy even more stories about these beloved birds.”
Titmouse’s Chris Prynoski (The Legend of Vox Machina), Shannon Prynoski (Fairfax), Antonio Canobbio (Arlo the Crocodile Boy) and Ben Kalina (Harriet the Spy) will executive produce alongside showrunner Eric Rogers . Mystery Island is the first Angry Birds series to partner with Amazon and will be available exclusively on Prime Video and Amazon Kids+. More details on the Angry Birds Myst series in the near future.
