They also aim to provide pioneering, safe and sustainable digital services characterized by excellence, innovation, foreseeing the future, sustainability and the highest standards of customer happiness.

RTA Director General and Executive Board Chairman Mattar Al Tayer backed the scheme, saying that it includes smart orientation for taxi systems, involving the use of artificial intelligence to analyse big data to automatically direct taxis to the locations of highest demand as demand forecasts system instructions.

“This project will reduce fuel consumption and increase the number of trips per vehicle,” he said during a meeting with DTC staff.

Smart Direction

The approved projects include Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which will increase the operational efficiency of vehicles by 3%, improve data and forecast accuracy by 10% in areas of highest demand, reduce travel times and increase productive kilometers, explained Al Tayer .

It will also increase travel acceptance rates by 15% and reduce human resource costs by 20%, he added.

The battery of a Tesla car and sends a notification to the driver when the battery is due to charge.

The Smart Collection Project aims to provide drivers with smart, digital and sustainable services by simplifying collection procedures, improving operational efficiency and creating an environment that is attractive to them.

It also aims to improve the operational efficiency of vehicles, increase the number of trips, reduce maintenance and fuel costs, simplify driver procedures, develop transactional digital solutions and provide 24×7 services, Al Tayer said.

investment plan

During the conference, Al Tayer presented DTC’s investment plan aimed at creating an inclusive and sustainable future by leveraging growth opportunities and improving profitability.

In the first half of 2022, DTC generated a profit of AED118 million and signed seven commercial agreements for taxis, limousines and buses, the RTA statement said.

The meeting reviewed the DTC’s priorities, which are continuously updated. It added that priorities included reshaping and upgrading services and following up on the 2021-2023 roadmap to improve services at Dubai Airports, in addition to developing investment prospects and plans and a roadmap for enhancing the safety of the taxi industry.

Al Tayer then inspected Tesla Model 3 vehicles – which have been added to the DTC taxi fleet to expand the use of environmentally friendly vehicles – and 236 newly deployed school buses, including 52- and 36-seat categories.

Buses are equipped with the latest safety equipment, including indoor and outdoor cameras, student screening systems, motion detectors and automatic fire suppression systems.

Al Tayer reiterated DTC’s commitment to revolutionize Dubai’s taxi industry by using artificial intelligence and smart systems to improve performance and customer satisfaction.

“This process requires strengthening the fleet of taxis and limousines, enhancing the integration of transport modes, and providing mobility services with a range of comfort and care options to match the emirate’s rapid growth and ease the mobility of public transport passengers to the destination. ,” he added.
