Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that its Supreme Council for Strategic Planning and Corporate Transformation has approved the 2023-2030 Strategic Plan.
The committee meeting, chaired by Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the RTA Executive Board, approved the planning directives in line with the Dubai Government’s Dubai City Plan 2040, Dubai City Plan 2030 and the UAE Government Vision, WE UAE 2031.
According to the 2023-2030 strategic plan, RTA revised its mission, corporate values ​​and strategic objectives, and set an ambitious goal of becoming a “world leader in seamless and sustainable mobility”.
Al Tayer said the intention was to focus on looking ahead, with strategic projects that support the economy, the well-being and well-being of residents and visitors, keeping pace with global and future road and transport trends.
“The revised strategic plan is also due to local, regional and global developments. It takes due account of the deliverables of Dubai City 2040 Plan, Dubai 2030 Plan and other initiatives,” he added.
According to the RTA, the new strategy sets key strategic objectives including seamless and innovative mobility, sustainability and health, safety and security.
Regarding seamless and innovative mobility, the Authority stated that it aims to facilitate the development of roads and transportation systems based on 20-minute neighborhoods.
It said the system was linked to world-class traffic services, smart mobility solutions and optimal utilization of rights of way.
With regard to sustainability, RTA refers to the integrated concepts and elements involved in social, financial and environmental sustainability. It seeks to accelerate the migration to zero-emission mobility by 2050 and promote social responsibility, making Dubai a global model for sustainable development.
Another key objective is to promote travel safety, provide a safe environment for the community, support the integration of public transport, ensure safe and smooth travel, and facilitate business continuity.
As part of the strategic plan, the RTA said it will also focus on a future-proof organization aimed at building corporate capabilities in developing leading R&D and innovation, adopting soft business models, and building effective partnerships.
It also called for raising the profile of RTA in digital migration and connected and immediate systems to support decision-making processes based on a scientific and systematic approach.
