The Dubai Roads and Traffic Authority was named the “Team of the Year” in the 2021 British Safety Council International Safety Awards.
Among the 292 organizations that have won the International Safety Award, including companies from the UK, Africa, Asia, India, Continental Europe and the Middle East, the RTA team is the only winner of the team of the year.
The International Safety Award received an honor from the British Safety Council in recognition of RTA’s commitment to maintaining the health and safety of its workers and workplaces in 2020.
RTA is one of 86 award-winning organizations to receive honors in the 2021 International Safety Awards.
Nada Jasim, head of RTA’s Security, Risk, Regulatory and Planning Department, said: “Winning awards is always a pleasure, but it helps us achieve our responsibilities and obligations for a higher level of commitment and continued performance. RTA is committed to doing its best to ensure the safety and health of our organization and employees. Nothing in our business can exceed the values of health and safety.”
The International Safety Award recognizes organizations that have demonstrated their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related diseases, and ensuring well-being and mental health at work.
In 2021, 532 organizations have applied for the International Safety Award. These organizations come from various fields, among which the construction, manufacturing, oil, gas and mining, and power and public utilities sectors are important representatives. The winners came from 37 countries/regions around the world, of which 86 organizations received the Merit Award, 154 organizations received the Merit Award, and 147 organizations received the Pass.
The Chief Executive Officer of the British Safety Council, Michael Robinson, congratulated RTA. He said: “The British Safety Council appreciates RTA’s achievement. The award is for their efforts to protect employees and workplaces from injury and health damage. Recognition of commitment and hard work.”
