Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is on a three-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). During his three-day visit, he visited Abu Dhabi’s first Hindu temple on Wednesday at the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir is currently under construction. The Minister was very happy after visiting the first temple in Abu Dhabi and expressed his appreciation and praise to the team for their efforts and progress in building this temple.
S Jaishankar visits the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi
After visiting the temple, S Jaishankar uploaded some photos on his official Twitter account and expressed his delight and thoughts on visiting the Hindu temple ruins under construction in Abu Dhabi. He praised the Indians who worked behind the development of the temple, describing the temple as a “symbol of peace, tolerance and harmony”. He uploaded a photo with the caption “In Ganesh Chaturthi, had the pleasure of visiting the @BAPS Hindu temple under construction in Abu Dhabi. Great to see the rapid progress and deeply grateful for the input of all involved. Met the BAPS team on site, Community supporters, devotees and workers.

During the visit, S Jaishankar met with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan and praised his great support for the Indian community, our yoga activities, cricket and cultural cooperation.

BAPS Swaminarayan Temple will be built on a huge area of 55,000 square meters. Hindu temple artisans will decorate the temple with intricate hand-carved things. During S Jaishankar’s 3-day itinerary, he will have a dialogue with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and assess the comprehensive strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and India.
