Turkish boxing star Sabriye Sengul will return to action in UAE Warriors 40. She hopes to get back on track with her MMA career in Abu Dhabi, where she will fight Mena Mohamed Abdallah in a flyweight bout.
Sengul (3-4) is an amateur boxing champion in her native Turkey and has won the ISKA and IKU Taekwondo titles. In 2018, she signed with Bellator and won a kickboxing competition on her debut.
The following year, she switched to MMA, with varying degrees of success. Sengul has won just three of his seven starts in the campaign and comes into this tournament after back-to-back defeats.
She still has a huge following in her native Turkey, with 404,000 followers on Instagram. Her Egyptian counterpart, by contrast, does not appear to be on social media.
Mena Mohamed Abdalah will be making her MMA debut, but she does have some kickboxing experience. Four years ago, she won a fight in her native Egypt.

The card is set for the Etihad Arena and is one of three cards coming out to the Emirates Warriors next weekend. In the main event, UFC veteran Ali Alqaisi will face ONE Championship veteran Ahmed Faress.
Alqaisi (13-6) to claim featherweight title He won 33 with the UAE Warriors online. He has won the title twice and won four of his five promotion tournaments.
The two played 29 games for the Emirates Warriors, with Al Ghasi winning by decision. Faress (17-7) has fought for the ONE Championship twice and won in 35 for the Emirates Warriors.
Meanwhile, Badreddine Diani (5-2) will put his Emirates Warriors welterweight title in jeopardy. He will face Abdullah Buscheri (9-3) in the joint main event.
