SAI adopts Wajib reporting platform at federal level

The Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) has announced the nationwide adoption of its innovative, award-winning reporting platform ‘Wajib’ to strengthen oversight and controls at the federal level to combat corruption.

Developed and launched by the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA) in May 2022, the platform will now be implemented across ministries and federal entities across the seven emirates, enabling individuals to report any financial or administrative corruption, thereby underpinning the UAE’s commitment to Uphold the noble principles of integrity, transparency and accountability.

The Wajib platform is accessible and easy to use. It is hailed as the leading secure digital reporting platform in the country, allowing individuals to report any administrative or financial irregularities and acts of corruption. The platform aims to be inclusive of all members of society, following rules and regulations in protecting anyone who witnesses and reports wrongdoing in support of national anti-corruption efforts.

The platform is specifically designed to maintain the highest level of privacy and confidentiality to protect all reported data, as well as the personal information of individuals who disclose details of incidents of breach or corruption. Anyone who witnesses illegal or disruptive behavior that undermines government integrity, including employees, customers and suppliers of government-related entities, can file and submit reports through the platform.

Commenting on the federal-wide adoption of Wajib, an SAI spokesperson said: “We are passionate about providing government entities, officials and the public in the UAE with the tools and platforms they need to adopt the principles of integrity, accountability and transparency. Since its launch Since then, the Wajib platform has demonstrated that it is an effective tool for the reporting process, and in doing so has achieved great success, and we believe the Federal Government’s adoption of Wajib will bring positive outcomes and benefits.”
