Samanea NY is being transformed into an entertainment center. Check out this year’s new and upcoming features.

Samanea New York is about to expand its identity. Westbury’s former Source Mall will soon be known not only for its shopping, but also for Nassau County’s entertainment hub.

“We are revitalizing this iconic location by creating a unique lifestyle destination,” said Dominic Coluccio, director of real estate for Samanea New York, part of Lesso Mall Development. “Our overall goal is to offer something for everyone.”

Here are four new tenants entering the space:

X-Golf Westbury

The most recent opening is X-Golf Westbury, an indoor golf and entertainment center with eight simulators covering 6,300 square feet.

“This technology is the most comprehensive indoor golf tracking system available, allowing customers to accurately replicate all golf shots, including short game,” said co-owner Christopher Sciocchetti. “Measuring ball speed, launch, direction and spin as well as club path, impact and velocity, the X-Golf system performs over 6,000 calculations per second.”

Guests of all ages can play 18 holes of golf with a maximum of 6 players per simulator. Additionally, there is a full bar and food menu.

“We work with local suppliers like Borrelli’s for their personal pizzas and Danny’s Chinese Kitchen for their Philly cheesesteak omelets and crab rangoons,” says Sciocchetti. “We also have signature chicken sandwiches, chicken wings, soft pretzels and other bar food.”

Empire Adventure Park

Imagine an indoor playground over 35,000 square feet with a variety of attractions for all ages—that’s what Empire’s Adventure Park is all about.

“It’s a place to have fun with family and friends,” says founder/owner Matthew Mullen. “We look forward to helping Long Islanders create some future memories. Growing up, I remember going to the carousel at Nunley. I hope some kids today remember Empire like that.”

The park will feature trampolines, a laser tag arena, an inflatable obstacle course, a two-story ninja obstacle course, dodgeball and a trampoline slam dunk with adjustable edges. For the younger kids, there will be a soft playground with foam cannons and ValoJump, an augmented reality on a trampoline with an 86-inch monitor where you can see yourself in the game.

“The place will be decorated in New York team colors like royal blue and orange,” Mullen said. “We’ll also be hosting a weekly luminous party on Friday and Saturday nights.”

A café serving pizza, sandwiches, chicken tenders and more will open on site along with a full bar.

RYCO’s Escape Rooms and Lounges

Immerse yourself in the new environment of RYCO’s escape rooms and lounges, where you choose your own adventure. There are four different rooms: RYCO’s Island, Dreams Work, Asylum and Titanic.

“There’s a 60-minute clock on the wall, which gives you a time frame to work together as a team and solve puzzles to escape the room before the clock runs out,” says co-owner Cody Oher. “It tests your skill, your mentality, and sometimes your physical fitness to escape the room in time.”

RYCO uses a lot of technology and automation in the rooms, reducing the need for manual locks and setting codes in only one room.

“Our focus was on combining hydraulic, air pressure, and sensory-based puzzles that involved technology and felt like a theme park-based environment rather than a traditional locked 8×10 square foot room,” Oher said.

There’s even a lounge where guests can enjoy cocktails, sodas, and shareable snacks.

Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gym

Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gym is opening its second location on Long Island (the first is in Melville), where guests can experience climbing from beginner to expert.

“Today, we’re seeing a shift in people’s needs for fitness solutions,” said Mark Davidson, president of Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gym New York. “It’s not just going to the gym and jumping on the treadmill; people are looking for connections and community with shared interests. That’s true with rock climbing. People help each other and make friends. It’s a very social activity.”

The facility will offer 20,000 square feet of indoor climbing terrain ranging from as low as 16 feet all the way up to 45 feet high.

“You don’t need to be superhuman. As long as you can walk up a few flights of stairs, you’re fine. But it’s an upper-body and lower-body workout,” says Davidson. “People are super hooked on it from the first time. Put on your comfy clothes and we’ll take you up the wall.”
