Samsung Electronics showcased its latest lineup of gaming screens at Gamescom 2022 today, including the groundbreaking Odyssey Ark and Odyssey G70B and G65B. Announced earlier this month, Ark Odyssey is the world’s first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time (GtG) and a new cockpit mode.

Odyssey Ark: The Ultimate Entertainment Screen With Superior Gaming Performance
Odyssey Ark represents a new frontier in gaming with its unrivaled picture quality and cinematic surround sound. The world’s first 55-inch 1000R curved screen provides an immersive view that surrounds the user’s peripheral vision and is enhanced by Cockpit Mode, which optimizes the screen environment with HAS (Height Adjustable Stand), tilt and pivot functions. Quantum Matrix technology, powered by Quantum Mini LEDs, enhances ultra-fine and precise control of densely packed LEDs with added 14-bit processing, 16,384 black levels and a mega-to-one static contrast ratio for display in perfect clarity every detail.
The Odyssey Ark is the ultimate entertainment screen, enabled by Samsung’s proprietary matte display and Sound Dome technology. With anti-glare and anti-reflection protection, users can watch, work and play undisturbed while surrounding themselves with cinematic sound from four speakers in each corner and two center woofers – resulting in a 60W 2.2.2 Channels, minimum 45Hz notes of any gaming screen or gaming soundbar.
Odyssey Ark is equipped with all the necessary features to provide the best gaming, entertainment and lifestyle experience. Smart Hub integrates basic IoT devices and functions, allowing users to monitor and adjust settings such as temperature and humidity through the SmartThings app. Plus, with a simple Wi-Fi connection, you get the full smart TV experience, with no need to download or sign up for Samsung TV Plus, to access popular streaming apps and free live content.
In addition to AMD FreeSync Premium Pro’s 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time (GtG), Odyssey Ark offers Samsung Game Center,1 An all-in-one game streaming discovery platform where players can discover and play their favorite games without downloads or storage space requirements.
Additionally, the Odyssey Ark features the Ark Dial, a solar-powered controller exclusive to Ark Screens that provides quick and easy control of settings such as the Flex Mobile Screen, Multiview, Quick Settings and Game Bar.2 In addition to being equipped with a solar panel, the Ark Dial can also be charged via a USB Type-C connection.
Odyssey G70B and G65B: Smart Services for even smoother gameplay
New at Gamescom 2022 are the Odyssey G70B and G65B gaming monitors. These are the first models in the Odyssey series to embed both the Samsung Smart Platform and the Samsung Game Center.
Both the G70B and G65B offer smart features, including the option to create a home office environment without a PC. The monitor easily connects to a variety of IT equipment and services through a single screen, enabling an ultra-efficient work environment. Users can wirelessly connect to a Windows or Mac PC, use Samsung DeX, mirror their smartphone screen to a monitor using Apple AirPlay 2, and access Microsoft 365 cloud services. Users can also watch the latest shows on Netflix, Amazon Prime and other leading OTT (over-the-top) service providers.
In addition to the IoT capabilities on the Odyssey Ark, the G70B and G65B feature a high-sensitivity far-field voice microphone that allows users to control the device through voice assistants such as Bixby and Amazon Alexa.always-on voice3 The feature allows users to interact with Bixby when the monitor is off, while displaying conversation-related information on the monitor screen.
Available in 28-inch and 32-inch sizes, the G70B offers a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time (GtG). These features are packed into a UHD-resolution, flat-screen IPS display, enhanced with NVIDIA’s G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for smooth gameplay.
The G65B is available in 27-inch and 32-inch size options and comes with a 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time (GtG). The QHD, 1000R curved monitor with FreeSync Premium Pro delivers the perfect gaming experience to give any gamer a competitive edge.
Samsung Game Center (available on both G70B and G65B) provides instant access to top streaming services from partners such as Xbox, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Google Stadia, Utomik and Amazon Luna (US only). In addition, powered by Samsung’s advanced game streaming technology, users can access popular console and PC games and navigate the gaming world for smooth visuals and responsive gameplay. In addition to the Samsung Gaming Hub, the two new Odyssey models also offer a powerful tool, the Game Bar, which enables gamers to quickly and easily view the status of game settings and modify response times or screen ratios, as well as game screen modes without leaving the game screen .
