As the festive season approaches, all across the UAE is transformed into winter wonderlands and festive markets. With jingling bells, phantom snowflakes, carolers, a giant Christmas tree and Santa himself, residents can head to many parts of the city to get in the festive spirit.
Here is a list of winter wonderlands around Dubai where residents can enjoy festive celebrations, indulge in delicious meals and enjoy fun-filled activities with friends and family.
Madinat Jumeirah Festival Market
Winter festivities are in their true glory at Madinat Jumeirah, with activities including Santa’s Grotto, children’s workshops and roaming entertainment. Additionally, the amphitheater has a festive train that kids can ride this season.
Winter Gardens at Habtoor Palace
You know winter is coming when you see tall Christmas trees adorned with elaborate ornaments and lights as you drive down Sheikh Zayed Road.
The Winter Gardens of the Habtoor Palace have been one of the most popular destinations for Christmas celebrations for many years. This year, the minimum spend is Dhs. 25 per person to enter. Visitors can shop for bric-a-brac or enjoy a variety of delicacies in the garden.

Everything related to Christmas, you will find in the Expo Winterfell. With a touring band playing the best carols, an ice rink covered in artificial snow and a spectacular show at the Al Wasl Dome, the city comes alive during the festival. Food trucks and cafes offer everything from burgers to Santa cookies to cotton candy. For the adventurous, there’s zip lining, jumbo bag jumping and rock climbing. A giant letter to Santa station is where the young and the young at heart send letters to the North Pole. Visitors can also take photos with Santa Claus or Santa Claus at the Santa Claus House. With activities like decorating cookies, making gingerbread houses and painting shirts, there’s something for everyone in this city.
IMG Worlds of Adventure
Dubai’s largest mega-themed indoor entertainment destination will keep the festive spirit alive by transforming into a winter wonderland with festive decorations, entertainment and events.
A variety of winter-themed attractions and activities, including Winter Wonderland, The Frozen Zone, Santa’s Grotto, Elf Workshop and Bauble Giants are all part of the festivities. A Santa Express with an elf driver will be another unique experience. The Christmas parade will feature all the characters, including the Ice King and Queen, toy soldiers and snowflake dancers. Visitors can also enjoy special meet and greets with all Marvel and Cartoon Network characters.
The tree lighting will also include a Christmas carol show, Santa riding a dinosaur car, dinosaur and Santa skits, and a character parade.
Ibn Battuta Mall
Enter the magical world of the Northern Hemisphere and experience the artificially created Northern Lights and dazzling aurora borealis. Guests can also learn about the magical myth of the Northern Lights in the mini-museum, all of which will be held at the India Palace until 1 January 2023.
Visitors can also enjoy Insta-worthy photo opportunities such as Santa’s Grotto at China Court, star tunnel, giant baubles, lit candy canes, Santa’s sleigh and more. There will also be live performances by Santa Claus and the elves, musical toy box ballerinas, touring carol singers and a holiday pop band.
Meet Santa and his elves at China Court daily from 2pm to 10pm, with shows and roaming entertainment every weekend.

For those who miss the snow and cold of Christmas back home, head straight to Ski Dubai, where the snow park has everything you need for a fun outing. Visitors can purchase tickets to meet and greet Santa, which includes a gift, a cup of hot chocolate and a printed photo of the encounter. For those who want to spend more time with Santa, there is the option to have breakfast with him.
Visitors can also choose to learn to ski or meet penguins in the ice and snow park. Guests can also choose to pack and grab popcorn for a unique snow theater experience.
Winter Fun at Nakheel Mall
Kick off the countdown to Christmas with festivities at Nakheel Mall, which transforms into a winter fun zone with edible snow stations, bubble spins and fishing games. Kids can also decorate cookies, candies, decorations and more with a variety of free workshops daily from 4pm to 10pm.
Families can head to Santa’s Grotto to meet and greet Santa for free, or pose for festive selfies in front of one of two Christmas trees. They can also take part in the “Sea-Wonder” parade that will run from Al Ittihad Park to Nakheel Mall on December 23rd and 24th from 6pm to 8pm.
Circle Mall
Visit Circle Mall’s “Home Away From Home”-themed Snow Festival, where kids can meet and talk to Santa in his cozy cave from 4-8pm on weekdays and 4-9:30pm on weekends story.
Free events include The Fireplace, a cozy area for families to come together and listen to Santa tell stories, and workshops where kids can make their own ornaments to decorate the tree or decorate some Christmas cookies.
There are also stilt and boules dancers wandering around every weekend, and there are colorful festival parades.

Santa’s Secret Island in Bluewaters makes the season more festive with events including Santa’s Workout Session, Santa’s Ice Rink, Santa’s Workshop and Santa’s Grotto. All of these activities are free with a minimum spend of AED 150, except for the ice rink. Santa’s Secret Island runs through December 28, and families can enjoy activities with Santa and his elves every day from 4pm to 9pm.
