Paul Farbrace, who will also return as head coach of this year’s Abu Dhabi team, said of Sarah Taylor’s contract extension: “Sarah did a fantastic job last year and I think she’s been great for the team. The enthusiasm and energy is outstanding. I look forward to seeing her expand on what she did last year and I think she will bring more innovation and make a bigger impact on the team this year.”

In late October last year, former England goalkeeper Sarah Taylor became No. 1 in the men’s professional cricket team after being named assistant coach of the Abu Dhabi team in the last 5th Abu Dhabi T10 League. female coach.

Sarah Taylor then said of her contract with Abu Dhabi: “Going into this franchise world, you get players and coaches from all over the world, which may not necessarily be the norm. But I would love to think that some young girls or Some of the women watching can see me in the coaching team and realize it’s an opportunity and they can push it and say ‘if she can do it, why can’t I?

“I do want it to be a little more normal, I might be the first, but I won’t be the last. Coaching is my passion, it’s a bit of a men’s line, which is really exciting. There’s never been a problem in a male environment, and I love the challenge. You always want to prove you’re good enough, but that’s the same for any coach going into a new environment.”

Sarah Taylor made her debut in 2006 and played 10 Tests, 126 ODIs and 90 T20Is for England before announcing her international retirement in 2019. She then returned to professional cricket in the summer of 2021, playing in the 20th Century Women’s 20th Century Cup. U.K.

In her 226 international appearances, she has scored more than 6,500 times in all three formats. She is a three-time ICC Women’s Cricketer Award winner, Women’s Cricketer of the Year ODI in 2014 and a two-time World Champion, having won the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2009 and 2017.

Sarah Taylor further continued: “It was totally unexpected, what an amazing surprise. I was counting down until I could get to Abu Dhabi and get going. I couldn’t wait. When I found out who the crew was, It made things even more exciting, it was a lightbulb moment and I would be stupid if I missed this opportunity.

“I have a lot to learn, they probably have a lot to tell me, and I’m going to be a sponge. I have to be. I’m going to sit there with a notebook and write as much as I can. They know that too and will Teach me a lot like I’m just starting my coaching career.”

Sarah Taylor, by far the best wicketkeeper, went on to become the first female professional coach of the Sussex men’s county team in England and coach of the British Beeder School.
