Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, will host the Future of Desalination International Conference (FDIConf 2022).
This is the first global gathering to explore the future prospects and solutions of the world’s water to develop the industry, research and propose sustainable solutions.
Organized by the Saltwater Conversion Corporation (SWCC), the three-day Desalination in Space event will take place on September 11.
Policymakers, innovators, financiers, marketers, operators, contractors, developers and technology providers from around the world will be involved.
The event will chart a roadmap for the development of the unconventional water industry to 2030 through workshops and 3D presentations on desalination in space, seabed and snow, as well as an unmanned virtual simulation station.
It aims to provide a progressive and ambitious interpretation of the future of the desalination field based on advanced research to benefit from space science and related experiments.
Experts will discuss new visions related to desalination activities based on existing information, needs and future research in the space domain.
It aims to come up with solutions that can cut carbon emissions by 50 percent, increase industry revenue and control desalination costs to a world record price of $0.32 per cubic meter.
The event will begin with a ministerial and inaugural meeting and an accompanying desalination exhibition.
The parties involved will sign agreements and memorandums of understanding to underscore Saudi Arabia’s pioneering role in desalination.
Established in 1974, SWCC is an independent government body with legal personality, mandated to desalinate seawater and deliver the produced desalinated water to various regions of the Kingdom.
