Bear Its freshman run has gotten rave reviews — so what are the writers of Hulu’s intense kitchen drama doing for its next course?
“It felt like the first season was a bit of ‘let’s catch up,’ and the second season was a bit like where the show officially kicked off, once we got to meet everyone and get their backstories,” said co-showrunner and executive producer Christopher Storer told reporters Thursday at the Television Critics Association winter press conference. “So it’s cool to expand the world and learn more about them.”

The finale was a big win for Carmy and company, but it wasn’t all plain sailing for them in season 2, with Storer warning: “They think they’re starting from a healthy place, but restaurants, like many other businesses Same, just creates the same amount of problems and the same amount of headaches every day. So we see that they have to step up in some areas, regress in some areas, but hopefully get back together by a very specific date to open this thing up. “
He also gave this ominous prediction: “Winning is losing. It doesn’t mean everyone thinks it’s the right thing to do. So obviously there’s turmoil inside and there’s some challenges.”
Season 1 was more of a drama than a comedy, with bone-chilling kitchen scenes, but “Going into season 2, we found ourselves leaning more towards the lighter side, just from a writing standpoint,” says syndicated show Host executive producer Joanna Calo hinted.But she warned: “We’re not there yet. [yet], so maybe this will all be undone. (Season 2 is still in the writing phase and production has not yet begun.)
