SeaWorld opens new theme park in Abu Dhabi – WFTV

Spanning five indoor floors and more than 183,000 square miles, the new park tells a fascinating one-ocean story, SeaWorld said in a release, taking guests on an “incredible voyage of discovery from the poles to the tropics.” “.

“This is an important day for our fans and for us at SeaWorld as we see the results of years of intensive planning and collaboration with our partners at Miral to bring our important experiential mission to the regions, and inspire visitors to protect animals and the wild wonders of our world,” SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment CEO Max Swanson said in a news release. “With this park’s innovative, vibrant animal habitats and immersive natural environments, we are bringing the next generation of experiences to a whole new part of the world that is exciting to visit and enjoy.”

The park is also the MENA region’s first Global Humane Certification, which the press release says signifies high standards of animal care.

“Our first accreditation in the region provides an opportunity to recognize the widespread impact of the animal welfare movement in zoos, aquariums and conservation parks around the world,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, President and CEO of American Humane. “We’re delighted that SeaWorld has met the region’s standards for global humane certification, joining their sister parks in the United States that have long exemplified high standards of animal care.”

Yas Island SeaWorld Abu Dhabi is the first new SeaWorld park in over 30 years, in addition to being the first SeaWorld outside of the United States.
