Selena Gomez is ready to risk heartbreak in pursuit of love.
The 30-year-old star – who has previously dated the likes of Justin Bieber and The Weeknd – is determined to find love despite her previous heartbreak.
In an appearance on Jay Shetty’s ‘Purpose’ podcast, Selena shared: “I feel like devoting myself to something is the best way I can love. But I never want me to suffer The pain is for some kind of protection for myself – a piece of armor, if you will – and I would never let that happen because I still believe, I still hope.”
Selena added that she won’t let setbacks stop her from pursuing love.
“Of course, there are days when I feel very far away. But I’d rather continue to be sad than be completely without feelings,” she said.
Meanwhile, Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey, has revealed that she won’t be watching her daughter’s Apple TV documentary “Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me.”
“The reason is because we live together,” Mandy explained.
“We’ve been through that, we’ve found healing, we’ve gotten over some. Even if it’s something she’s been through, I don’t know she’s been through, as a mother, it affects me. It hurts my stomach, It would put me in that state of mind, and I would wish I could protect her.
“She’s great, going through so much, and I already feel like I’ve protected you a lot, and I thought, maybe I could spend my vacation, instead of where I’ve been going to her, go, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t know,’ because That’s what mom does.
“You want to take your child’s pain away. You don’t want them to have to go through something like this, even if it’s part of developing who they will be and all of us, our pain and suffering and our growth.”
