Residents of Abu Dhabi can now travel around the clock in driverless taxis through the TXAI app, which can be downloaded on Google Play and the IOS App Store.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Hassan Al Hosani, CEO of Bayanat for Mapping and Surveying Services, a subsidiary of Group 42, stated that the first pilot phase of driverless taxis has been launched on Yas Island and will be At the end of December on the 23rd, the public can use the application for free during this period.
He added that residents of Abu Dhabi can book rides immediately after downloading the app by following the instructions displayed on the screen, noting that they must be in nine locations on Yas Island to book the itinerary.
He further added that the second phase of the plan will involve increasing passenger transport operations and operating more than 10 vehicles in different areas around Abu Dhabi.
He pointed out that the current TXAI fleet consists entirely of electric and hybrid vehicles, which will help reduce carbon emissions.
Bayanat focuses on geospatial systems, data analysis and artificial intelligence, and recently announced its new driverless vehicle fleet under the TXAI brand, which is the first batch of fully automated taxis in the UAE.
