The 40th Annual Sharjah International Book Fair will bring the 2021 Nobel Prize winner Abdulrazak Gurnah to the UAE along with the screenwriters of the Netflix super popular series “Money Heist”.

The news was announced at a press conference in Sharjah on Wednesday.

SIBF 2021 brings together 929 Arab publishers and 637 international publishers, displaying millions of books in an area of ​​10,000 square meters.

India leads international participation with 87 publishers, of which 48 are from the United States, 26 are from Italy, 16 are from Canada and Brazil, 14 are from Spain, and 12 are from Mexico and France. SIBF will make its debut in nine countries, including Colombia, South Sudan, Cameroon, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

This year, Egypt has 295 publishers, followed by 250 in the UAE, 138 in the United Kingdom, 112 in Lebanon, 93 in Syria and 76 in Jordan.
