Shark Tank India’s Namita Thapar dispels ‘toxic culture’, says founders must be ‘arrogant’ is a myth: ‘People confuse aggression with drive’

[ad_1]

Indian Shark Tank namita tapal It’s a myth that “driven” founders need “arrogance” to succeed. In a new interview ahead of the premiere of the show’s highly anticipated second season, Namita says she has enough examples of successful entrepreneurs running businesses in a positive way.

Namita returns to hit reality show with United Sharks Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Payush Bansaland newcomer Amit Jain. The second season will premiere on January 2.

In an interview with YouTuber Raj Shamani, Namita said the most important question she could ask a company’s HR department was turnover rates. If employees were quitting at an alarming rate, something must have gone wrong, she said. “You work 80% of your life, so people have to be happy. Are you happy? It’s a simple and beautiful culture without politics, but with depth…” says Namita.

Successful businessmen need to be ruthless, she says, a huge misconception perpetuated by mass entertainment. She continued, “People always confuse aggression/ego with drive. You can be the most aggressive, the most ambitious, achieve the most brilliant results and still not be a megalomaniac. You No need for a toxic culture to get results. I think it’s all Bollywood, Hollywood, these stories we read about the typical culture, if you want to be a top company and get results, tycoons have to be ruthless, Crazy competitive, ruthless, backstabbing.I have enough examples, enough case studies, in India and globally, of people who were very driven and achieved great success without being arrogant or conceited. “

Namita does not address the perception Shark Tank itself has created about the startup industry. in a recent interview On Film Companion, Anupam Mittal said that certain people were “gained a lot of leeway” in the first season and that under no circumstances should someone be “shamed” on the show . Shark Ashneer Grover, who often berates aspiring entrepreneurs on the show, won’t be returning for season two.

Namita has previously commented on Ashneer’s absence in season two, albeit indirectly. In a tweet, she wrote, “One person doesn’t make or break a show…not me, not anyone…this show celebrates our entrepreneurs, job creators. …..it’s about teaching mass business concepts through these beautiful stories of nation builders. . Focus on that and the hard work of the team.”
