Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, met top high school students and issued instructions to provide them with financial incentives and prestigious university scholarships , reports the Dubai Media Office (DMO).
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met the high achievers at Emirates Towers on Thursday, November 17, and encouraged them to continue their excellence.
Announced by Sheikh Hamdan earlier this year, the scheme recognizes and rewards the best students in Dubai. UAE students can get scholarships at the most prestigious international universities both at home and abroad. Expats can receive financial aid from international university affiliates in the free zone and are prioritized for golden visas.
“Emirati youth are the backbone of the country’s development and the country’s best hope for success,” Sheikh Hamdan said.
“In Dubai, we remain committed to building their skills and enhancing their participation in nation-building,” he added.
Sheikh Hamdan called on high-achieving students and all graduates to complete their studies in science disciplines to add qualitative value to market demand in strategic priority areas, which are particularly important to the local economic system.
Sheikh Hamdan further said, “We remain keen to invest in your capabilities and provide all the facilities to support your journey so that you can write a new chapter of excellence and leadership in Dubai.”
Hamdan added: “We saw the future with you and you, as a top performer, are an inspiration to other young people.”
In coordination with KHDA and public and private schools in Dubai, apply an intelligent electronic system to standardize high school grades for different subjects to ensure fairness when calculating grades. The system identifies Dubai’s top achievers in different courses and is aligned with international best practice.
The system identifies the top 50 students in UAE co-educational high schools for the 2021-22 academic year ending August 2022.
The high school students – 25 Emiratis and 25 expatriates – were identified through a smart electronic system. They will receive financial incentives and scholarships, according to directives issued by the Crown Prince of Dubai. Expats will also be granted a Golden Visa.
