SHARJAH: His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has stressed the importance of caring for generations in building society, providing everything that will help them to receive education, develop their capabilities, improve their Skills and guide them the right way for a successful future.
Sheikh Sultan made the remarks during his visit to the Wasit Youth Center on Saturday, where he met Sharjah youth staff and was briefed on the activities offered by the center and the most prominent achievements in various fields.
The Ruler of Sharjah noted that he and his wife Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi (chairman of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Developing Leaders and Innovators) follow up with Sharjah institutions on a daily basis, including those under the foundation.

The foundation contributes to the healing of generations by caring for the employees of its complex from childhood onwards and over the course of 25 years, so that its output is sound minded and mature, stable families, knowledgeable and Skilled individuals who contribute to community service through their work, inventions and research.
Sheikh Sultan expressed his joy and pride at the various achievements of the Sharjah Youth Branch in various fields including science, technology, culture, sports, etc., commended the efforts made to nurture the youth and stressed the need for continued efforts to acquire modern and useful Knowledge and skills, achievement instead of despairing of failure in the first place, learn from failure and use it as motivation to keep going.

The Ruler of Sharjah emphasized the importance of research in developing science and skills among young people and contributing to the discovery of all new things in science, knowledge and technology, noting the many inventions and scientific research registered in Sharjah.
He called on the youth to visit the laboratories of the University of Sharjah and the American University of Sharjah to learn about the modern and precise facilities that facilitate research and discover impressive scientific results.
Sheikh Sultan also drew attention to the opportunities offered by the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) to learn about pioneering experiences in the field of research and invention, and to get acquainted with specialized institutions in the field of science and the possibility to benefit from their development in research. He advises the employees of the Rubu’ Qarn institution to maintain moral decency and conduct in dealing with their families and society and to strengthen their relationship with God, in addition to being keen on continuing learning and diligence and benefiting from all facilities, they succeed and empowerment services and opportunities.

At the beginning of his visit, the Ruler of Sharjah received an honorary membership card from the Hima platform, which offers cardholders many benefits and services from affiliates of the Youth Centre.
Sheikh Sultan was also briefed by the Science and Technology Laboratory, which includes several projects, most notably the recycling of plastic cans to promote natural resource conservation and waste reduction, as well as scientific projects such as the Automatic Emergency Alert Triangle, Smart Emergency Stations Project, energy harvesting system and hydroponic equipment with a set of leafy plants and hydroponic solutions.
The tech lab also includes models of robots built by Sharjah Youth staff to perform remote specific tasks, a corner of an Arduino chip and its programming, as well as 3D printing equipment for printing 3D shapes, laser burning and woodcutting.

Sheikh Sultan was also briefed on Programmer of the Century, a review of the projects of a group of programming teams in Sharjah’s youth.
He also visited the Harvest Corner Centers to hear from colleagues about their most prominent achievements, such as the electronics application project ‘Dukan’, literary engagements, home electronics exhibitions and theater productions, as well as arts forging and achievements in judo and bow and arrow.

Sheikh Sultan also met with members of the book club, who reflected on their experiences regarding the impact of reading on developing personality and increasing knowledge.
He also visited a corner of the terrarium industry, the skill of creating and preparing agricultural ponds based on the principle of creating paintings of collected plants and combining them with stones and sand. He goes on to visit the video game corner and the content production studio, which includes a lab for editing films, and the plastic arts studio, which includes concrete art, resin tables, making World Cup models, chess and drawing art on wood.
He concluded his visit by learning about the achievements of theater and performing arts, including the troupe’s participation in the 2022 Mexico International Book Fair guest of honor coronation event in Sharjah.
