Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center participated in the 4th Akdal World Summit as a cultural partner of Expo 2020

For the second time, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center participated in the activities of the 4th Agdal World Summit this year. The summit’s slogan is “Active Global Citizenship-Creating Sustainable Investment Opportunities”, which will be held in October 2021. The Exhibition Center (Expo 2020) will be held in Dubai from 24th to 30th. The center participated in this summit as a cultural partner.

The center’s participation in the summit activities included a seminar hosted by Amina Al Hammadi, the head of the center’s cultural and tourism department, entitled “Active Citizenship: Testimonies and Images from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque”, within the four main axes. The first axis concerns the authenticity of the concept of active citizenship established by the founders of UAE society.

The second axis shows that the center embodies the concept of active citizenship through its programs aimed at nurturing a generation that reflects a positive UAE personality, including the Ibn Al-Dar program and small cultural guides.

The third axis adopts the practice of mosques and provides millions of tourists from different cultures around the world with vivid images of active citizens. Under the supervision of elite citizen groups, these citizens reflect the glorious image of UAE nationals and their ability to communicate with them. Individuals are based on tolerance, coexistence and respect.

The fourth pillar highlights the mosque’s active civic spirit by enhancing its status as one of the world’s best cultural destinations on the world tourism map.

The center participates through a pavilion that showcases its key role in conveying the civilized image of the UAE and the active civic spirit and information in the center’s plans, activities and events. Through interactive screens, the pavilion introduces visitors to the mosque and Islamic architecture and its artistic masterpieces organized by the center as part of its cultural role, such as “Hajj: Memories of Journeys” and “Islamic Coins: Historical Reveals” exhibitions.

The mosque witnessed the extensive participation of various cultures from all over the world on the platform of the summit, and introduced visitors to the message that the mosque promotes tolerance and coexistence between cultures, which embodies the vision and vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al, the founding father of the UAE.
