As the Abu Dhabi Art Fair showcases the artistic talent and creativity of the UAE, IMKAN Properties is connecting community members through the artistic power of Sheikha Fatima Park, a new vibrant and convenient public entertainment in Abu Dhabi Leisure destination.
Located in the middle of the main neighbourhood of Khalidiya Abu Dhabi, this former park that only served women and children in history has been transformed into the emirate’s first urban lifestyle park, offering unique products under the overall theme of active health.
The space aims to revitalize, restore and sustainably develop the inner city community by adopting innovative methods, reflecting the developer’s concept of “place making”, combining park elements with new components and community-led activities to inject new vitality into the community .
One of the main features of Sheikha Fatima Park is the art murals around the five themes of “spirit”, “journey”, “innovation”, “together” and “memory”. Local artists work with students from nearby schools and universities to develop their works based on these themes. Each artist and student team design themes based on IMKAN’s park art strategy. For the theme of “innovation”, new perspectives of tradition and tradition will be considered, challenging the construction and interpretation of the park, and under “unity”, they are encouraged to create works that can bring together different members of the community.
