Jacksonville, FL – The music world is remembering Lisa Presley. The singer and Elvis Presley’s only daughter has died at the age of 54. Her mother, Priscilla Presley, made the announcement Thursday night.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter, Lisa Marie, has left us,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement Thursday night. “She was the most passionate, strong, loving woman I’ve ever known.”
The announcement comes just hours after Priscilla Presley confirmed that Lisa Marie Presley had been taken to hospital in cardiac arrest early Thursday.
Lisa Marie Presley, who attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday, just celebrated her father’s 88th birthday at Graceland.
Fans and entertainers alike are fondly remembering Presley and her career.
Country artist Leann Rimes released a statement saying: “Lisa Marie Presley… what a heartbreak. Hope she rests in her daddy’s arms. My heart goes out to her family.”
The Jackson family posted a photo of Presley and Michael Jackson on Instagram, saying “condolences to her family and loved ones.”
The two married in 1994 and divorced in 1996. John Travolta wrote on Facebook: “Lisa baby girl, I’m so sorry. I’ll miss you but I know I’ll see you again. My love and heart to Riley , Priscilla, Harper and Finley are with you.”
