Shreveport, Louisiana – Miss Louisiana Organization The 60th annual Miss Louisiana competition has kicked off in Monroe.
There are 27 candidates vying for the crown currently worn by Gracie Reichman, with several women representing ArkLaTex this year.
Miss Port City Louisiana Raven Moore was from Shreveport and attended Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC).
This is her second year competing in the pageant, which she says has “helped [her] Self-esteem and confidence. “
When asked why she wanted to be Miss Louisiana, Moore said she wanted to use her platform to help reduce suicide rates in the veterinary community by “pairing animals from animal shelters together” [with vets] For company. “
The Miss Louisiana Organization will award more than $1,000,000 in cash and tuition scholarships. Miss Louisiana is part of Miss America, which gives out more than $45 million in cash and scholarships each year, making it the world’s number one sponsor of scholarships for young women.
“For me, the scholarship was the motivation for me to continue my education without worrying about ‘will I be able to pay for the courses I need to earn my degree,'” Moore said.
