INDIO, Calif. (CNS) — Skrillex, Four Tet and Fred Again will wrap up the final weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Sunday night, following a performance by Blink-182 as he replaces Frank Ocean, who suffered a leg injury.
Ocean had planned to end the festival, but pulled out of the second weekend, citing a leg injury, after receiving criticism for his performances on the first weekend, according to multiple reports.
“After injuring his leg at the festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1…Frank Ocean was unable to perform the scheduled show, but still intended to perform, and within 72 hours, the show was reworked as necessary. ,” an Ocean rep told the Los Angeles Times and Variety about the singer’s performance last weekend.
“On the advice of doctors, (Ocean) will not be able to participate in Weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprained left leg.”
Instead, Blink-182 will headline the Coachella stage at 9.20pm before Skrillex, Four Tet and Fred Again wrap up the night from 10.25pm, replacing Ocean.
They will take over the stage after performances by Bjork, Kali Uchis, Porter Robinson and GloRilla.
Sunday’s performances will begin as early as noon on two of the seven stages — Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theater, Sonora, Gobi, Mojave, Sahara and Yuma, according to festival officials. . Eric Sanchez and Minus the Light will kick off the festival with performances at Sonora and Yuma.
Following Eric Sanchez on Sonora will include Conexion Divina, Los Bitchos, Alex G, Mareux, Sudan Archives and more, while Minus The Light on Yuma will include Airrica, Cassian, Camelphat and Adam Beyer, among others.
After performances by Gorillaz, Burna Boy, Becky G, Pusha T and Doechii, Bad Bunny headlined late Friday night with a headlining performance. Other artists performing on Friday include Chemical Brothers, Metro Boomin, SG Lewis, YUNGBLUD, Malaa, Dombresky and Blondie, among others.
BLACKPINK headlined Saturday night after performances by Rosalia, Charli XCX, 070 Shake and Marc Rebillet. Other acts on Saturday include $uicideboy$, Labrinth, Earthgang, boygenius, Yung Lean and Umi, among others.
